Trending Tuesday: The Classics
It’s interesting to me how trends come and go throughout the years. Many trends end up repeating themselves over again many years down the road. In some ways, that can make it hard to stay on trend with your wardrobe, beauty and hair accessory choices. However, there are some things that almost seem transcendent of trends and fads. Classics are always a great choice because they have surpassed the test of time and never go out of style. Here are a few examples of classic choices in hair, beauty and fashion.
There are many jewelry classics, but probably the most popular of all are pearls. As a little girl, many of us likely coveted the string of pearls from our grandmother’s jewelry box. It was the most treasured piece of the entire box and something we would do anything to wear someday. From Princess Diana to Michelle Obama, this timeless style complement a woman’s attire for a day at the office or an elegant evening out. It’s a style Audrey Hepburn was often photographed wearing. And let’s be honest, how can we talk about classic anything without talking about the beautiful and elegant Audrey Hepburn.
Let’s talk about beauty. To me, one of the most classic looks is a bright red lip. Whether you pair it with dark or neutral makeup, the bold color jumps off your face and demands attention. This vibrant lip color has been popular for years and is still seen on runways today. Here are just a few examples of this style showcased on the red carpet. How amazing do they look?
One of my favorite fashion classics is the always fabulous, black and white. It may seem basic but it doesn’t have to be. This color pair is a marriage that I believe will continue to live on. I’ve been pinning black and white fashion for a while on Pinterest, so I pulled some of my favorites together to show you how chic this classic statement can be.
One more thing that I love is the iconic patterns (or as I call them, colors) of many of our hair accessories. Throughout all new trends and fads, these will remain an effortless choice to help your hair look fabulous. Tokyo, Tortoise and Onyx have been among the most popular choices throughout the years. Which do you love the most?
By no means do I consider this a full list of classic styles. In fact, I want you to help me add to it! What do you think is something that won’t be brought down by hot, trending new fads throughout the years? Tell me in the comments below!
