Feels Very Cheap
I've had many France Luxe combs and barrettes through the years, so I'm both puzzled and disappointed. I would never guess this was a France Luxe piece. France Luxe used to use a very heavy, smooth, polished plastic for their combs. The feel of the plastic was how you could tell it was a high-quality piece. The comb, though, is made out of a completely different (cheaper?) kind of plastic--the teeth are hard, brittle, and very sharp, with rough edges on the sides where the plastic seams weren't finished off. They actually scratch my scalp. It's the kind of hard, lightweight plastic I would expect from a made-in-China comb. The decorative band at the top of the comb is just a glued-on strip, which isn't obvious in the photos. This strip is the older-style heavy plastic that's polished to perfection, but it's glued onto a much cheaper comb. Overall, I'm very disappointed in France Luxe's decline in quality.
